Shakedown is thrilled to announce the first wave of the line up for the 2014 festival in Brighton, having moved into the heart of the summer on 19th July and in a beautiful new home, Waterhall.Headlining the main stage will be the legendary Basement Jaxx. Since the 2000 release of debut album Remedy, the Brixton duo have led the way in pioneering electronic music. They have already established themselves as one of the UK’s most famous and most loved acts and on 19th July they will bring their iconic full live show to Shakedown – an all-out sensory assault featuring live musicians, an army of singers and dazzling visuals. Expect incredible performances of their back catalogue of classics including Red Alert, Romeo and Where’s Your Head At?Joining them on the main stage will be fellow London duo Groove Armada with a high octane DJ set. With a discography spanning some of the most iconic dance songs of the past two decades, expect crowd-pleasing anthems such as I See you Baby and Superstylin’.Gorgon City are undoubtedly one of the biggest breakthrough acts of the past year following their top 5 hit Ready For Your Love and will play the main stage of Shakedown.After producing the stand-out set of the 2013 festival, Jaguar Skills is back with his ingenious mash-ups, mixing everything from hip hop and reggae to house and drum & bass. Kidnap Kid and DJ EZ have also been confirmed.Plus, the massive second headliner for the main stage will be announced soon.The second stage is Audio presents Area 10 which is headlined by the current king of house music, MK (Marc Kinchen).After well over a decade ruling the underground scene, MK began dominating the charts last year with the biggest house tune of 2013 – his # 1 remix of Storm Queen’s Look Right Through. Since then he’s been prolific both in his DJ sets and with his productions, providing the definitive soundtrack to the atmospheric surge in house music for almost two years. MKs midas touch has benefitted everyone from Paloma Faith and Lana Del Rey to Sam Smith and Rudimental; and looking at his plans for 2014 his star looks set to rise even further.The rest of the Audio stage reads like a who’s who of house music right now. Co-founder of Hot Creations and member of Hot Natured, Lee Foss, is confirmed for Shakedown 2014. Having playing in every corner of the globe, Lee’s rise to prominence as a DJ has been driven by his diverse sets, spanning from nu-school house to synth-heavy techno.Also playing the Audio stage will be Huxley, who will bring his bass-led garage-driven strain of house, as well as Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat producer Riva Starr. Completing the stage is Blonde, Treatment’s own Tom Frisco and James Moss, and two of Brighton’s best loved DJs – Audio residents Charles Green and Neal Schtumm.The infamous Supercharged stage returns once again in 2014 with an awesome line-up of bass-driven DJs to be announced soon.
